JBL VTX A-Series takes the stage at BIGSOUND

Bigsound 2023 JBL VTX A Series Line Array at Blutes The Sound Garden and Soapbox.Beer

MadisonAV and JBL Professional supply VTX A-Series to BIGSOUND for industry and live event demonstrations

MadisonAV and JBL Professional recently supported Australia’s Ultimate Music Industry Event, BIGSOUND, by providing a full suite of VTX A-Series premium line array systems into three venues.

BIGSOUND is the southern hemisphere’s biggest music industry gathering, and Australia’s longest-running and most influential music market, featuring a trove of heavy hitting speakers and industry leaders, cutting edge workshops, talent showcases, networking opportunities and a music festival.

BIGSOUND brings together artists, industry professionals, and music enthusiasts from around the world for a multi-day extravaganza that celebrates the power of sound and innovation.

The team at MadisonAV saw the opportunity to showcase the latest in JBL performance audio products by installing a full complement of JBL VTX A-Series line array and subwoofer product in three venues: Blute’s Bar, Soapbox Beer and The Sound Garden.

Each morning, MadisonAV held private JBL VTX A-Series listening experiences in each venue, allowing guests to personally experience the products’ performance, as well as to learn about configuration, rigging, transportation and deployment of the systems. Guests included audio engineers, venue operators, system integrators and production companies that were interested in hearing the systems for themselves.

In the evening, the venues hosted live bands and performers during the BIGSOUND music showcases – with the venue or bands’ own audio engineers mixing each performance on the JBL VTX A-Series system.

The newest addition to the VTX A-Series, the A6 sub compact array and B15 sub-woofer was featured in the smallest of the venues, Blute’s. With four elements stacked on three subs on each side, this intimate venue was host to up-and-coming artists including Trophie and Mazbou Q, as well as a New Zealand/Aotearoa feature that included chart-topping Bic Runga and emerging artist Georgia Lines.

The mid-sized A8 system was featured with B18 sub-woofers in two storey venue The Sound Garden. Whilst the venue’s layout with columns in front of the stage and central stairs provided less than ideal physical characteristics for live performance, the JBL VTX A-Series provided a high-quality audio experience for patrons that ensured the performers talents shone through. The Sound Garden hosted Loren Ryan - winner of Australia’s Toyota Star Maker at this years’ Tamworth Country Music Festival, as well as Indigenous performer Nathan May and Melbourne-based ‘motel pop’ band The Slingers.

Lastly, Soapbox.Beer – a large brewery and pub, opened their upstairs level as a dedicated performance venue for BIGSOUND. With powerhouse acts including The Grogans and Steph Strings taking the stage, there were hundreds of people enjoying high energy and high impact audio performances through the large VTX A12 system with G28 subs.

Peter Kubow, Category & Market Specialist, Performance Audio Solutions for MadisonAV said that “showcasing the sub-compact A6, the mid-sized A8 and the larger A12 format in three venues of different size and acoustic characteristics was the ideal way for us to prove the performance of the systems in personalised listening sessions, as well as in live music scenarios during the live band performances”.

The team at MadisonAV will continue to showcase the JBL VTX A-Series and welcome the chance to demonstrate or discuss installation or rental opportunities.
