The Challenge

The Coral Sea Room at Orange Ex-Services Club (OESC) is a sought-after venue in regional NSW, hosting everything from weddings and corporate functions to gala balls and live music. While the space had aesthetic appeal and flexible configuration, its aging and underpowered audio system had become a liability.

The existing setup was a patched-together PA with missing high frequencies, underwhelming bass, and frequent technical issues. As OESC looked to position itself as the premier entertainment and events destination in the Central West, the Coral Sea Room needed an AV solution to match its ambition.








The Solution

MadisonAV partnered with Centrestate Sound & Lighting to design and deliver a powerful, yet compact, audio upgrade built around JBL’s VTX A-Series.

System Highlights

Main PA:

  • 2 × hangs of 6 JBL VTX A6 line array elements
  • 2 × JBL VTX B15 subwoofers

Processing & Tuning:

  • JBL Performance Manager & Venue Synthesis for system design and optimisation

Flexible Operation:

  • Preset-driven control allows seamless switching between day-to-day functions and full production mode for concerts and events

Even Coverage:

  • Ceiling-mounted delay speakers ensure clear, consistent sound throughout the space, even to the back corners
  • The entire system is powered over networked audio and includes plug-and-play capabilities via a Cat-5 wall plate, giving visiting engineers instant access with minimal setup.

Since the upgrade, the Coral Sea Room has experienced a transformation:
