We are excited to announce the availability of FIR tunings for select Control Contractor Series loudspeakers. The FIR filters optimize both frequency response and phase response to a finer degree of precision than has typically been possible with standard IIR “parameter-based” filters. Additionally, these FIR filters were designed to meet JBL Pro’s new V6 FIR tuning standard.
V6 Tuning Features
- Equalization to a neutral frequency response
- Improved linearized phase response above 300 Hz
- Allows users to start with a known flat voicing for further EQing to the needs of the install
- Improved signal coherence
- Matched gain to allow for smooth system tuning and subwoofer integration
V6 FIR Tunings For Available Loudspeaker Models:
These tunings are for use with Crown DCI-N and DCI-DA power amplifiers. Additional tuning files are expected to be released for Crown CDI DriveCore amplifiers as well.

This free desktop application lets users design and simulate acoustic coverage and prepare complete JBL sound reinforcement systems for rigging or installation in any environment, at any scale, in both 2D and 3D.

MadisonAV and JBL Professional recently supported Australia’s Ultimate Music Industry Event, BIGSOUND, by providing a full suite of VTX A Series premium line array systems into three venues. The systems were used in private listening sessions, as well as in the evening industry showcase performances.
MadisonAV brought the JBL VTX A-Series to the ENTECH Roadshow, giving audio engineers, production companies and industry experts the opportunity to hear the sub-compact A6 system in action.
The roadshow travelled to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
