AMX MUSE - Episode 1 - Platform Background

Graham Barrett from HARMAN Professional provides the background behind the development of AMX new control and automation platform, MUSE.

Graham looks back at how AMX has addressed the evolving technologies and the needs of AV programmers and their clients over many decades. He reveals how the AMX Muse platform was developed to modernise control system architecture, addressing the need for more scalable, flexible, and powerful automation in professional AV environments.

Built on a Linux-based operating system and leveraging open-source technologies, Muse supports multiple programming languages including JavaScript, Python, and Groovy—giving developers greater choice and control.

AMX aimed to reduce friction for integrators by allowing control logic to run independently of specific hardware, enabling faster deployment and easier maintenance. The platform's modular design and virtualisation capability reflect HARMAN's strategic shift towards software-defined AV control, built to meet the evolving demands of enterprise, education, and government sectors.
