Stadiums and Arenas

A Game-Changing Complete System Solution

Creating Superior Audio, Video, and Digital Experiences in Stadiums

Live entertainment transports audiences to a unique and exhilarating world, letting them escape their everyday routines and fully immerse themselves in the moment. A crucial element of this experience is the sound—clear, powerful, and emotionally impactful.

To achieve this, modern stadiums rely on advanced sound and video systems that deliver exceptional clarity, creating an immersive environment where fans can feel the action, hear every word, and lose themselves in the spectacle.

MadisonAV and its world-leading brands have established themselves as leaders in creating superior audio and video experiences for stadiums, leveraging cutting-edge technology and expert engineering to transform how audiences hear, see, and feel live events.

Leveraging Immersive Technology for Enhanced Audio and Visual Experiences

To elevate the audience’s experience, we use a combination of high-fidelity audio, precise spatial design, dynamic control over sound systems, and advanced visual technologies. These elements combine to deliver a seamless blend of sound and visuals that enhance every event, whether a sports game, concert, or public gathering.

Here’s how we integrate these technologies to optimise stadium sound and visual systems

High-Fidelity Audio for Dynamic Soundscapes

Stadiums and arenas are about much more than just delivering engaging matchups, a significant amount of time is spent designing and delivering impeccable customer experiences throughout the venue. From the time guests arrive until the moment they leave, venues need a dynamic and intelligible system that ensures every seat in the house sounds great. From bars, restaurants, and luxury suites to merchandise shops, concourses, and even restrooms – every space visited by customers should be richly and clearly heard.

High-fidelity sound systems ensure that every frequency—from the deepest bass to the highest treble—is delivered with clarity and power. MadisonAV uses JBL Professional loudspeakers, known for their high performance and reliability, to handle the unique acoustics of stadiums and arenas. These systems accurately reproduce a wide range of frequencies, creating a natural, comfortable, and exciting audio environment for the audience.

Understanding EQ Principles for Stadium Sound Systems

Achieving high-quality audio in a stadium setting requires a deep understanding of equalisation (EQ) principles. EQ is the process of adjusting the balance between different frequency components of the sound, ensuring that the audience hears a well-rounded mix regardless of their location in the venue.

  • Bass Frequencies (20 Hz - 250 Hz): Bass frequencies are crucial for creating a sense of impact and depth in audio. However, managing bass in a large space can be challenging due to the way low frequencies travel. They can sound overpowering up close but fade away at a distance. Carefully calibrating bass levels using JBL Professional subwoofers and Crown Audio amplification systems, ensures they are powerful yet balanced, allowing the audience to feel the music without it becoming overwhelming.
  • Midrange Frequencies (250 Hz - 4 kHz): The midrange is where most of the important audio information resides, including vocals and key instrumental sounds. Properly tuned midrange frequencies ensure that announcements, music, and other critical audio elements are clear and intelligible. In stadiums, getting the midrange right means fans can easily understand referees’ calls, announcers’ descriptions, and any other spoken word content.
  • High Frequencies (4 kHz - 20 kHz): High frequencies add clarity and detail, allowing audiences to hear the finer aspects of sound, such as the sharpness of a snare drum or the sibilance of speech. Crown Audio amplifiers help to enhance these frequencies, creating a bright, crisp audio experience that enhances overall clarity.

Spatial Audio Design for Comprehensive Coverage

Effective sound coverage in large venues requires meticulous planning and design. MadisonAV leverages JBL Venue Synthesis 3D acoustic modelling software to simulate how sound will behave in a space, considering factors such as the shape of the stadium, materials used, and seating arrangements.

This advanced modelling software allows sound engineers to visualise sound dispersion and refine speaker placements, ensuring comprehensive coverage with consistent audio quality. By positioning JBL Professional speakers strategically throughout the stadium, we ensure that sound reaches every seat, eliminating dead zones and providing an optimal listening experience for all attendees.

Dynamic Control for Versatile Sound Management

Modern sound systems are not just about hardware; they are about control. MadisonAV integrates BSS Digital Signal Processing products to offer real-time audio processing and routing adjustments to the sound system, accommodating different types of events and varying crowd sizes.

This dynamic control ensures that the sound system can be customised to meet the specific needs of each event, whether it’s a major sporting event, a concert, or a public speaking event.
